Overview
The brief
Luster Studio, a jewelry studio in Philadelphia, wanted an identity that matched its whimsical, sweet, and ethereal style, rooted in the iridescence of pearls.
The identity
I studied the collection closely (the details, the shifting color of pearls, the feeling of each piece) and built a logo around a graceful handwritten mark with a stylized pearl at its center. The palette comes from light on pearls: soft pinks, opal blues, pale lavender, and a hint of gold.
Result
The identity carried across business cards and packaging and helped the studio stand out, with strong feedback from existing and new clients.

Brand Guidelines
A jewelry studio in Philadelphia, made of pearl light
01 The essence
Luster Studio makes whimsical, sweet, and ethereal jewelry in Philadelphia. The brand borrows its whole language from pearls: soft shapes, shifting color, and a glow that changes as you move.
Whimsical
Playful, hand drawn shapes that never feel stiff or corporate.
Sweet
Warm and generous, with a little romance in every touchpoint.
Ethereal
Airy layouts with room to breathe, like light on water.

02 The logo
Every letter is drawn by hand and swells like a drop of liquid nacre. Two flowers float beside it like charms on a bracelet. Use the artwork as supplied and never retype it.
Primary
The original artwork: iridescent Luster, white studio, a soft white outline, on Sky Blue. Use it whenever the brand introduces itself.

The flower submark
Lifted straight from the wordmark, the flower works on its own as an avatar, a seal on packaging, and a repeat pattern. Use it when the full logo would be too small to read.
03 Space and size
Keep a clear zone around the logo equal to the height of the big flower, marked x. Nothing should enter that space, not even other brand elements.
Clear space
x equals the height of the big flower on every side
Large
Small
Minimum
Minimum size
Never smaller than 80 px wide on screen or 25 mm in print. Below that, switch to the flower.
04 Misuse
The lettering is delicate, so small changes break it fast. These are the most common mistakes to avoid.
Don’t stretch or squash it
Don’t rotate or tilt it
Don’t use low contrast colors
Don’t add shadows or effects
05 Color
Periwinkle sets the mood, Bubblegum and Blush bring the sweetness, and Mint and Ice keep it airy. Ink is only for text.

The pearl gradient
The blend inside the Luster lettering: Bubblegum and Blush melting into Mint and Ice. Save it for the logo, foil, and special moments.
06 Typography
Fraunces brings the curves of the lettering into headlines. DM Sans keeps everything else calm and easy to read, so the logo always stays the star.

The Opaline collection
Freshwater pearls set in soft gold, finished by hand in our Philadelphia studio. Every piece is a little different, just like the pearls themselves.

07 Graphic elements
The flower submark repeats into a playful pattern, and soft pearl spheres add depth without photography. Keep both loose, airy, and never crowded.
Flower pattern
For tissue paper, gift wrap, and backgrounds. Mix sizes and turn each flower a little.
Pearl drops
Flat pearls filled with the logo gradient and finished with the same white outline as the lettering.
08 In the world
Business cards, tags, and packaging came first. From there the system stretched to social posts and the website without losing its softness.
